R.I.P. Lord Sear

It’s hard to not think about Lord Sear when I think about my relationship with hiphop. Listening to him on the CM FAMALAM show on cassette tapes in the early days, to listening to him on Shade 45 many years later. Lord Sear is a big influence on me and The HipHopHeads Podcast, this is undeniable. I’ll miss hearing Lord Sear crack jokes, play great music, and freestyle. Salute, Lord Sear condolences to his friends, family, and colleagues. Ayoooooooooo!

R.I.P. Joseph Sater

If you’re not from the city of Boston the name Joseph Sater may not ring a bell. But for those of whom are from here, went to college here, or visited for sometime, than more than likely you visited Boston most legendary music venue The Middle East Night Club in Cambridge. If you’ve followed me or my site for any amount of time then you’ve probably seen more than one performance from this venue as I’ve filmed there dozens upon dozens of time. Joseph Sater was responsible for all that as the Co-founder of the legendary venue on Mass Ave.

His vision has produced thousands of shows and legendary performances in the city going back nearly 50 years. He helped create scenes of music of all genres for the city and you could see it all under this roof and get a great meal on top of it.

R.I.P. Joseph Sater.

King Author – 3rd Party Ops

King Author unleashes 3rd Party Ops! And gotta say from what I’m hearing here it sounds incredible. The title track brings me back to Gza Cold World and thats the vibe I’m always after. King Author is a master of his craft and just keeps getting better. Theres a listening session for this tonight via his bandcamp at 7:30pm so tap in to that and buy the album here.

3rd Party Ops in short, are operations outside of the established order. King Author is painting a dystopian rebel visual, without sacrificing any of the craftsmanship he is known for. The soundtrack ranges from traditional blue collar hip hop to cinematic movie like scores of espionage. There is a wide spectrum of sounds present through out the project, however they are still cohesive.
