Copywrite releases a new track and new strain of weed called “Copywrite78” on 420. The song also has a 7in vinyl release on Man Bites Dog Records. This one’s a slapper and also produced by Copywrite. Check it out below and some more info on the whole Thang.
“I’ve always been a high tolerance smoker and I’ve always wanted to create my own perfect strain that did what I wish other strains could.
Let me introduce you to my own weed strain. It’s called “Copywrite78”. It’s been cultivated by the good folks at steel city home grown out of Canada. I told them I wanted a high power indica that is potent enough to give someone who is prescribed adderall couch lock. That’s what we’ve got. The ultimate “get-you-dumb-high” strain that you don’t really have to use too much to get blitzed- unless you like to be dumb high like me. Then roll up and let my strain work.
I was so happy at the results of the strain (I won’t name the cross strains just yet. I don’t want anyone to copy my shit just yet.) that I decided to write a love song to my new favorite strain. I produced the beat for this song also, so this is the most Copywrite song ever when you consider it’s by me, produced by me and inspired by my very own strain titled, “Copywrite78”. Huge shout out to my man DJ SWAB for killing the cuts on this so with no further ado; Steel City Homegrown in conjunction with the high exalted proudly present in part with Man Bites Dog Records, my love song to my own strain.
I call it “I have weed about to drop freestyle” is the actual title. Roll up.” – Copywrite
Limited Edition 7 inch Lathe with “I have weed about to drop freestyle” on Side A & Jeah 2 on Side B – 20 copies for– $20— 20 – 4- 20 on Man Bites Dog RecordsBandcamp.
Beat showcases have been a thing I been hitting a lot in 2023. The production scene is crazy in Boston right now with so many beatmakers, producers and lofi heads that are killing it, it’s hard to keep up. But, going to these showcases really put a light on these artists and their craft and how they’re getting busy. I find these spots awesome if you’re an MC, creative, or just a fan you can network and find yourself connecting with other talented people in the community.
Last night was no different. I drove my ass down to Boston from Maine to give some support to some very talented local artists. Namely our homies Chairman Chow, Loman and Lightfoot whom 2/3 have been featured on The HipHopHeads Podcast. The spot was at a place in Cambridge in Kendall Square called State Park. This is darkly lit whole in the wall bar and eatery. The producers were posted up on a pool table with all their equipment cranking out beats and vocals all night!
The place was packed and had good turn out, vibe was off the hook and very chill, simultaneously. People were getting busy on the boards, mostly sp404’s and rocking the mic as well. I didn’t stay too long as I worked a 12 hour day and still had a hour and half drive home but had a ton of fun! You can see the dates for the tour above and all the dates so far have been free shows! So if you’re in the area of them stopping definetly check it out! It’s a great time.
Peace to my brother The Supervisor who’s PBS album is dropping soon! Chairman Chow who is the hardest working guy in Boston, and Loman and Vinyl Villain two great producers who are elevating the Boston scene. Salute!
The homies the Dunnas have dropped a new video for Woolie directed by Chairman Chow! This song is really great, Oak and Dese have crazy bars. These guys know to make you smile through their raps. Peep this and whodunit! Out now!
King Author recently dropped a new one called Life Flashing… Which I picked up the other day. I gotta say, this might be some of King Authors best work lyrically. He’s a great storyteller and weaves rhymes together effortlessly it seems. His catalog keeps growing and his talents as an MC are really blossoming here. He’s also has a great ear for beats, I really enjoyed the production on Life Flashing… Do yourselves a favor and give the free joints a couple spins, and if you feel inclined drop the 9 bucks for the album and support real hiphop. King Author is a dude from mass you need to watch. Salute!
Don Def just dropped a new EP called Rogue Scholar. Don Def continues to show his lyrical ability on this one. Spanning a solid 6 tracks with some great production, you won’t be skipping a track on this. Don continues to cement himself as a guy to watch in the underground scene. Pick up Rogue Scholar by hitting the link below. Also peep the title track Rogue Scholar below as well. Salute!
Our brother M-Dot is back with some New visuals for Silver Bullet! This video is done in AI and is super dope. M-Dot stays innovating on his videos and I love it. Salute! His new album drops soon Y’all better get it!
