R.I.P. Viro The Virus

Philly MC Viro The Virus has passed away, I read this via the Snowgoons Twitter as well as Awkwords Blog. Condolences to his family, friends and fans.

Awkword-
The Philadelphia (and New Jersey) Community, the Hip Hop Community and the World View Community lost a Veteran Soldier in Philadelphia’s own Viro the Virus. He was one of the first artists I reached out to to work with me on this historical project, now even more important with our loss of this unique, talented emcee.

I wanted to say R.I.P. to Victor of Boston hip-hop group Audible Mainframe who lost a battle to cancer on Saturday. I met Victor a few times over the years many of which was him prior to becoming an MC. I did see him perform many times and theirs no denying his talent. R.I.P. Expo our condolences to his friends, family and fans.

R.I.P. Bai Jing

Kung Fu actress Bai Jing was murdered this week by her billionaire husband who later killed himself. The story goes that Bai Jing was in with the Triads and there was a plot to steal this guys money, dude found out and killed her. Who knows what the real story is but its a sad one. Bai Jing was a good actress who possessed incredible Kung Fu skills, so much so it’s said Bai Jing trained in Wing Chun for 6 months and was accepted as the first mainland student of Wing Chun master Ip Chun, son of the famous Ip Man. The clip of her below is from Kung Fu Wing Chun and shes battling the great Collin Chou. To read in depth about this shocking murder suicide check China.org.cn

R.I.P. Eddie Bones Of The Skitzofreniks

TheCrypt sends it’s condolences out to the friends and family of Eddie Bones of the Skitzofreniks R.I.P.

Here’s Checkmarks words on his passing,

The World lost another good man last night, and Heaven gained a hardworking Angel..

He’s in a better place.

Erik’s last couple years were a living torture for him. He was a hands-on, “stand up” type of guy who had to sit back and watch the World move around him. It ate him up that he didn’t have the ability to contribute more than words, thoughts and feelings since his accident. Erik was a DO-er and never wanted to rely on others to take care of him.

In remembering Bones, don’t think of the dude in the wheelchair.. Remember him in his finest hours, whether on stage with a mic in his hand and the spotlight on him, or the proud Father, pushing his daughter on a swing.

He already endured the tough times, living, and now he can relax at ease, and be the Angel to guide Marley through life with a much more powerful impact.

My Brother got his wings now. No more chair. No more relying on anyone to do the simple things that we all take for granted. God took him from
his challenged position, and gave him the opportunity to make things better for his Mom, Daughter, and Woman..

The next week or so will be difficult, but things happen the way they are supposed to. This too shall pass..

Erik went out as he lived- a fighter. Not fighting senselessly, but fighting with purpose. He wanted people to just be BETTER. He wanted us to learn the TRUTH, and not settle for face value. He believed in “each one, teach one”.

His life was cut WAY short, but he’s also left a lot behind to live on for him, most importantly, Marley and his Mom, and also his Music.. Remember the good times, and create your own new ones, with him in mind.

All I ask is, don’t get DRUNK and mourn for him. Hug your kids, and love your Mom for him. Be a better person for him. Make the most of your time on the earth for him, and be happy for each living, breathing, MOVING day..

In the words of my Brother- “One Love, One God”.

R.I.P. Sohail Ameri

Last night I’m driving home and came to a traffic stop and decided to check TheCrypt Forums to see whats crackin’ with my Internet brothers. When immediately the thread title R.I.P. Sohail caught my eye… Sohail has been a member since the start 2003 and we probably all knew him prior to that via the Necro forums, we’re goin’ back over ten years. This man had a personality and a sense of humor that was nearly unmatched, his travels, his stories, his demons, he shared it all with us. Sohail would take time away from the site some times long stretches for months but he’d comeback and we’d be ready to hear about the latest shenanigans that he got himself into. Although we’ve all known Sohail for so many years over the Internet, we all felt like we knew him in real life, and he was a guy you could talk to about anything, many of our members kept in contact with him via phone and some even became best friends with him in the physical world.

Sohails sense of humor was dark, edgy, original, and we’ve all laughed out loud with him multiple times over the years, and perhaps some of these jokes transferred over to his stand up comedy career. Sohail had a love for hiphop and even though it was off and on he always had love for TheCrypt/HipHopHeads and the people here. He never hesitated to crack a joke no matter how inappropriate, poking fun at us, himself, and others. Always giving advice like only he could, telling us about his sexscapades, the ability Sohail was a dynamic person, and one of a kind, he was a supporter, a friend, a brother. Rest In Peace Sohail Ameri aka Henry Chinaski aka @unclebusyfinger our community here will never be the same you’ll be remembered for how you lived and changed our lives you’re with Allah now, goodbye my friend we’ll meet again someday.

R.I.P. Patrice O’neal

Patrice O’neal was a pretty good stand-up comedian you might remember him from the Charlie Sheen roast, or perhaps his many appearances on VH1’s I Love The… Shows, or if youre just a clown than you remember him from his many appearances on Opie and Anthony. Sadly he finally gave in to death today after suffering a stroke about a month ago. We’re deeply saddened by his loss. R.I.P. Patrice.

The Crypt Presents: Eastern Conference Records – Game Over (The Best Of E.C. 97-08)

Eastern Conference Records - Game Over

As you  may know Eastern Conference Records put out it’s last record in 2008 with The Best and Worst of Cage, since then the label has been assumed dead. I for one was a big Eastern Conference Records Fan and bought anything that dropped on the label. I’m not saying I held every release in to the highest respect, but I enjoyed quite a few joints off each album. This is my best of Eastern Conference Records album. I pulled joints from each full length album as well as some samplers and specials some hard to find some not so hard to find. These records are all OOP and a few of them are available via iTunes I suggest you copp some of their stuff if you enjoy the mixtape. And I hope I can help put some new heads on to what I thought was a good label for it’s time. The compilation is 76 tracks long and almost 5 hours of material, so this will give you lots of replay value. Enjoy.
