Word has hit the internet and the underground hip-hop community that famed MC Eyedea has died. So far word hasnt come out how the battle MC lost his life but his mother let his fans know about the passing today via his facebook page.

It is with great pain and sadness that I tell you my son Mikey (Eyedea) has passed away.

At this time we kindly request your respect and our privacy as we process this devastating loss.

Eyedea was the same age as myself and we were actually only about a week apart. His birthday was early next month and sadly this talented man didnt live to see 29 but his music will live long past that. I recall the 1st time I got aqainted with Eyedea was when I watched him tear about Shellz on the Blaze Battle on HBO. Much love to Eyedea’s family, friends, and fans.
