Uncommon Records – Save The Horn

Uncommon Records is that ish and they been beastin the past couple years and we been trying to stay up on what NASA/Adam Warlock and his team are upto. Our man Junclassic is on the front joint of this also some familiar names such as Masai Bey and Billy Woods. You can buy the album off their bandcamp for a cool $5 it’s worth every penny cuz it goes to a good cause more info about that below.

Uncommon Records humbly presents our 2nd “Pop Up Album”, Save the Horn. All proceeds from Save the Horn will be donated to Charity:Water which builds water wells in the 3rd world. They are currently raising funds to finance a drilling rig that can dig multiple wells in the country of Ethiopia. All of the dollars donated to Charity:Water are verified to be going toward specific wells via Google Maps and photos that are directly associated with the dollars. Even their overhead comes through a separate income source.

Save the Horn will only be available for one month (10/28-11/28), we will then donate all funds raised from the sale of the album and it will never be available again. This creates a rare piece of music in the digital format. The album contains 16 songs for only a $5 donation, although we would encourage you to donate more if you can. Let’s tell you about the album:

Save the Horn features music from Uncommon’s roster like Acid Reign, Adam Warlock, Atari Blitzkrieg, Pruven, Short Fuze, Taiyamo Denku, Masai Bey, DCK VNNGT along with collaborations with fellow Progressive Hip-Hoppers like JunClassic, Billy Woods, Carl Kavorkian, Zesto and more. The list of producers banding together is also impressive including Nasa, Agartha Audio, IV the Polymath, Black Tokyo, Waatu, Bond and others.

The opportunity to present staunchly Progressive Hip-Hop like this in a joint effort to raise money for a worthy cause is an honor. We were able to make a difference with Japan Earthquake Relief earlier this year with a similar project, now we need to send the same love to Africa. Thanks to everyone that takes part, and enjoy the tunes!!!

Masai Bey – Collectors Bey

Masai Bey

As we reported on last week Masai Bey and Uncommon Records were gonna be releasing a best of Masai mixtape, dude has a good body of work with some classic collabs under his belt. In my opinion Masai is one of the most underrated, and overlooked MC’s in the underground, dude is talented as fuck. Don’t take my word for it though, sit back and relax and peep Collector’s Bey.Oh yea we re-hosted the album cuz I know bandcamp will start charging the uploader for bandwidth so decided to save them a few bucks, but as requested by Uncommon Records go to the Bandcamp for an ultrafast download, and to get updated one verything Uncommon brings.

Uncommon Records is proud to present, “Collector’s Bey”, an album that collects classic tracks, rareities and live audio from the extensive career of Masai Bey. It was compiled by Masai himself, along with some help from Uncommon Records founder Nasa.

It features some of his best from his Uncommon releases, self released works and more.

Masai Bey

Last time I believe we wrote on Masai Bey was when we put up the slept on Natural Magic Music, that was many years ago and at the time Masai didnt take kindly to it, blasting us (me) on his website along with our blog which I really can’t blame him we were dicks. Masai is one hell of an MC and I have always been a big fan of his work so needless to say I’m excited for this FREE release via Uncommon Records it’s supposedly a compilation of Masai’s great work over the years including rarieties, live tracks and some new remixes! We’ll throw it up as soon as we get our hands on it which should be Oct. 5th.
