Kimo…. this is sad news but not all that surprising if you saw the news about him being methed out a month or two ago… as ive said before I had a Black Box growing up so I started watching UFC at UFC 1 and in the early years Kimo was the man! i remember him walking out with a cross on his back and then going toe to toe with Royce Gracie and Royce pulling his hair and elbowing him haha shit was classic according to reports Kimo had a heart attack more than likely due to meth use, heres the story.

The New York Daily News reported earlier that former UFC star Kim “Kimo” Leopoldo died from a heart attack at the age of 41. TMZ has since confirmed his passing, however has not confirmed that his death was due to a heart attack.

Kimo was one of the UFC first major stars, having first fought with the organization in 1994 at UFC 3, losing to Royce Gracie. He wore out Gracie to the point that Gracie was unable to continue in the tournament and had to forfeit his match later that night.

Kimo has had legal problems over the past few years, including arrests for drugs, domestic violence and assault and battery. He was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after testing positive for Stanozolol and illegal stimulants after his match with Ken Shamrock at UFC 48 in 2004, his last bout with the organization.

He last fought at Extreme Wars 5: Battlegrounds in October of 2006, losing to Wes Sims (who is one of the contestants of season ten of The Ultimate Fighter) via TKO. He finished his MMA career with a 10-7-1 record.
