Blacastan & ColomBeyond Blac Sabbath Photo Shoot

The first installment of the two-part series chronicling the Blacastan & ColomBeyond NYC photo shoot with legendary street photographer Ricky Powell. The pictures from this shoot are included on the enhanced CD for Blacastan’s official debut album, Brick Records release “Blac Sabbath” available at UGHH http://www.ughh.com/store/detail.asp?… THIS VIDEO INCLUDES: – Music from Blacastan’s Brick Records debut “Blac Sabbath.” – Commentary from an ever-crass, yet hilarious Ricky Powell, including choice nuggets such as “I remember saying ‘Oh My God this is where Dr. J taped his ankles,'” while banging a chick on the trainers table in the rec room at The Spectrum in Philly during the Beastie Boy’s “Licensed To Ill” Tour in 1987. Ricky goes on to give us more behind the scenes hip-hop history when he voices his deja-vu over a previous photo shoot with the legendary duo Showbiz & AG.

In the second segment of the Ricky Powell photoshoot with Connecticut’s finest, Blacastan & ColomBeyond, Powell touches on a near-homo elevator encounter with ever flamboyant music mogul Little Richie. He also introduces us to the slightly suspect name he anoints certain individuals of the Blacastan complexion. Our man Trees over at Traffic hit us off with an exclusive by the homie Blacastan, I wanna say 3 things, 1 Blacastan is the GODDAMN truth and if you dont know that by now don’t ask just c’mere and let me slap ya in the head. 2 Buy that new Blacastan album I bet it’s gonna be off the wall it’s called Blac Sabbath so pick it up and if you havent got Master of Reality yet buy it now. 3 this track is bonkers, reasons its about BMX bikes i you didnt know Vega used to ride wicked hard back in the day and if youre from the Boston, Cambridge, Medford, Malden, Somerville and Arlington areas then you seen me whippin around all through the 90’s and even better if you owned a bike it’s a very good chance I robbed you, I’m sorry I was an underprivledged kid. Bonus fact I used to have a bounty for my bike I once said if anyone was capable of grabbin my shit id pay em $200 and shake their hand and keep the bike… needless to say I still got 200, a dry palm and still got my ride.. peace to 2Hip.
