Hello all! It’s been a minute, a long ass minute! 4 months to be exact. 2016 has been a crazy year for me thus far and it doesnt seem to be getting any less crazy. For those that rely on our site for new music I sincerely apologize and since the podcast went on hiatus I haven’t listened to any new music in over 6 months. If you’re reading this you’re also probably wondering where did Vega go? Well a couple things have changed, last fall I found out I was going to be a dad in preperation for that I had to put the podcast on hiatus. That was a crazy transition into fatherhood he was born April 1st that’s also around the time I stopped updating the site.
Taking care of a baby has its aches and pains but all around, it’s awesome. He’s 4 months now and everything is running more smoothly at his point and I think I can start getting into music again, which is going to be tough because hiphop is becoming harder for me to listen to these days, I wouldnt say i’m burnt out but lyrically im not feeling a lot of young MC’s and beat wise I’m not feeling many young producers either. This leaves me in the old man rap category which has its place but even old man rap is boring. All the same MC’s, saying the same uninspired shit, using beats that are trying to bring back the golden era but seem to fall flat. I also have an ear for new and good music so I’ll be scouring more I guess now that I have more time.
The Podcast will return! We dont have a date yet or a schedule planned but Bonafide and I are in talks, he’s recently also had a life change so he has to adjust to that before we can make a set in stone plan. The podcast will be manned by him and I again but will be more structured having weekly topics and such instead of freestyling 2 hour shows for 2 years as we did before. Ben Nice is doing better, he’s gotten help for some of the demons he was battling and hopefully he’ll return sit along side us, and the supervisor is always around so you can probably count on hearing him again.
Video and Photos, for years I took video and photos at shows in and around New England. Over a year ago I said F it , I’m not doing this anymore. I realized I hadnt had a chance to enjoy myself or the performances I was filming and it kinda pissed me off. I’ve been to hundreds of shows and cant tell ya a thing that happened because I was holding my arms in there to get a perfect photo or video all while elbowing and pushing kids out of the way. That was the other thing, i’ll be 35 this year, I’m an old ass man at these shows, taking video and photos at shows that I have to pay to get in, I dont get paid for the work I do, I only do it to share it with this website and because when I started nobody else was doing it, and at the time you couldnt shoot amazing video on your phone like you can now. Imagine my disgust when im sitting there with thousands of dollars in camera gear breaking my back and the 20 year old next to me is getting paid money, getting into the show for free, and taking photos and video with their iPhone or their shit canon/nikon with a kit lens. Im a bitter old man despite that I will try and film a couple shows this year, but more news on photo and video below.
My man VX has started a new New England Battle League called Militia Battles. This is Boston based and helmed by VX of PXR and Interstate Flamez of J-Side, and there’s me the cameraman an the voice of reason. We had our first event last month and it went great we got another one coming up this Saturday at Mass Apparel in Allston, come thru. We’ll be having a lot of events this year so hopefully when can get the New England Battle scene popping. If you know a battle MC that thinks he has bars tell em to shoot me some info.

Ive been collecting since the mid nineties but since then i’ve lost the collection a couple times, but I’ve been on my grind buying and searching for games.
