So it’s been discussed the hiphopheads team has voiced their opinion that I need to get back on track with site updates, forum discussions and all around happenings. I’m a busy ass man, I work 3 jobs I travel like a mufukka, I do this podcast thing you might know about and I attempt to post on the site as much as possible. I don’t have any help with it, I’m a one man show, one man army, lone wolf and whatever else you wanna call it.
I want to thank everyone who’s been visiting for the decade + we been on the Internet. We’ve had out ups and down and downs and ups and some of you have stuck around which I’m Thankful for. One of our issues with moving forward is our lack of social media presence. Yes the sites connected to Twitter and Facebook but I’m not really active on either of those sites and perhaps for the better of the site I should be, honestly I don’t want to get wrapped up into social media as it seems to consume people. Maybe someone out there wants to work with me and do that aspect of the site for us. Hell I’d even pay the person monthly, not much mind you but who’d complain about making some extra scratch for little to no work?
For years friends and followers have been telling me to make money off the site put ads up etc. But I’ve prided our site as being one of the few that’s not forcing some ad down your throat, but maybe that’s the next step if we want to be successful. I haven’t made a dime off this since I started and it was never my intention to either but if I can bring in my money I can invest more money into the site.
I’ve explained before while I’m a guy who runs a website, I really have no clue how websites work. I don’t know SEO, I don’t know ads, I don’t know much except about how to bootleg. I took over this gig for the almighty Pete Allah who owned hiphopheads before I took over in 2004 which a year later I started TheCryptOnline and not to float our own boat but we kinda jumped off posting music, movies and TV shows on blogs. After numerous shutdowns, labels, rappers, producers hating on us I decided to change the direction we were headed.
Goin in this new direction left some heads in the dust as we stopped the leaks other blogs decided to take our cue and copied our style and made it big well of course until they shut down or went legit. My idea in the beginning was to school ya on underground/asian movies, good TV shows and put you on to new underground rap and revisit classic albums. So far I think I’ve only been successful in one of those and I want to change that.
Well, I’ll shut up for now and hopefully you’ll see some content changes around here more than likely not but it’s the thought that counts.
