Nice lil write up by our man Slaine talking about the construction of Allison James off that new Stoupe album, also Slaine is gonna have White Man is the Devil 2 and some unreleased joints for sale on the newly reconstructed NecroHipHop.com so check that out and buy some shit.
This is a new song that I did on Jedi Mind Tricks producer, Stoupe, solo album. The album is called Decalogue, and also features MOP, Joelle Ortiz, Reef the Lost Cause, Supastition, Saigon and some other cats. I’ve only met Stoupe once I think, at a show I did with ILL BILL and JMT a few years back at CBGB’s in New York before it closed. I guess dude is a recluse from what I hear, and I guess that is confirmed by my experience doing this track. We never really talked about the song or nothing….I was sent the track, and I sent back my vocals. Either way, he is a dope producer, and I defintely respect his work. He sent me a banger.
I posted up in the studio this past winter after I was sent the instrumental, and spent the night putting the story and rhyme together during a big snowstorm in Boston. I spent the first couple hours actually not even writing… just listening to the beat…..like for a few hours while I put down about a half a liter of Captain and Coke and figured out what I wanted to do. I had a concept in my head of waking up and having to piece back together what happened during a blackout. I think it is defintely a situation a lot of people can relate to, but not something I have ever heard a song about. Anyways, check it out on my page, and cop the album if you are feeling it. 1
