The legenday Geto Boys from Houston did their first ever show in Boston last night in their 30 years together. What an amazing show and presence they had, im not sure if it was my fanboy inside me (no homo) but this possibly one of the best shows I’ve ever been. They performed a slew of classics from their catalog but never touched on any solo work. Either way what an incredible show. On video 7 Scarface goes into a acoustic guitar and plays “Wish you Were Here” by Pink Floyd.

I’m gonna be blunt with you guys, Roc Marciano is the best rapper as of the year 2010 bar none. His album IMO is easily top 5, shit even top 3, hell shit is number 1 album of the year. How can you improve something that feels so right? You add tracks to an album that rival the best tracks on an LP that doesn’t have a single bad joint on it. Now this is something thats really unheard of now days, but this album is seriously for the people. All of us who were waiting for hip-hop to be revived, back to the golden era, that us OG’s miss so much. Your wish has been granted. For every kid who did work on the street at one time or another, this album will speak to you like the Gospel of Christ. This latest track Scarface is outstanding.
I see a lot of rappers calling their shit hard body, but you fags are softer than my Celtics velour. Take note please, dirty drums that sound like theyre being played in the rain, a string loop that sounds like the Sword of Doom is about to behead you, and lyrics that bring people back to the block for real. In Roc’s words “killer shit.,” “the lyrics I wrote, they showing unlimited growth, deliver the coke, any nigga try to approach, give em hole like Gilligans boat” “Bundles are tossed, out the sunroof of the Porsche, thought I was humble to a fault, im from the jungles of new york, Mr Wonderful, I’m like Paul Orndorff.” This shit speaks to me, I’ll consider myself a disciple of Roc’s, dude is the resurrection. “He’s big Tookie out here.”
